ABOUT ME

About Aries Yeo

Hi there! I'm Aries, and I've dedicated over two decades of my life to the dynamic world of finance. Throughout my career, I've delved into strategy, operations, finance, and change management, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in both wealth management and investment banking.

But my journey doesn't end there. I'm also a fierce advocate and leader when it comes to gender diversity and inclusion. For more than seven years, I proudly served as an Executive Committee member for the Financial Women's Association of Singapore, a remarkable non-profit organization that champions professionalism in the financial sector, with a special focus on empowering women and nurturing future leaders. Under my guidance, the association's corporate membership blossomed from the ground up, expanding to over 35 companies. Additionally, I assembled and led an exceptional mentoring team, driving even greater success after our esteemed award in 2013 from AWARE in Singapore.

Today, I stand as an accredited Performance Coach, recognized by the prestigious International Coaching Federation (ICF). With certifications as a Neuro-Linguistics Programming (NLP) Practitioner, Certified Positive Intelligence Coach, and Clean Language Facilitator, I possess a unique set of skills that allows me to adapt to the diverse needs of my clients. I take pride in my coaching approach, which has transformed the lives of countless individuals who once felt stuck, uncertain, overwhelmed, or simply lacking in energy.

But my passion extends beyond the corporate world. I believe in lending a helping hand to those in less fortunate circumstances. That's why I volunteer as an ACE mentor with CGL (Change Grow Live) and serve as a solution-focused coach with Project5, a remarkable non-profit organization supporting the incredible health workers in the UK.

It brings me great joy to share that my efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The Coach Foundation has recognized me as one of the Top Performance Coaches, a testament to the impact I've made in the lives of others.

MY JOURNEY TO COACHING

Like many individuals, my life has been a turbulent journey filled with ups and downs. There were moments of triumph, periods of stagnation where I merely went through the motions, and times of profound confusion. I'm sure you can relate to these experiences.

When we take a step back and reflect, we realize that most of us spend our lives in search of well-being—a harmonious balance of the things that truly matter to us. We yearn for that sense of contentment and challenge, seeking both solace and excitement.

As a single mother and the sole provider for my children, the weight of responsibility often overwhelmed me. I felt trapped, suffocated, and lost. Balancing life's demands became a constant struggle, leaving me questioning my identity and purpose. Was I simply defined by my role as a mother? Did my dreams, desires, and goals still hold significance?

The sudden and tragic loss of my son during Easter 2017 brought my life to a standstill. In an instant, everything seemed insignificant—job security, personal finances, and even my fear of stepping outside my comfort zone. Nothing mattered anymore.

Experiencing the death of a child is an indescribable emotional ordeal. It defies the natural order of life, leaving us in disbelief and anguish. Even if we were aware of our child's limited lifespan due to medical conditions, the pain remains unbearable. The day it happens, there is no preparation.

His passing was a cruel reminder of the fragility of life and it compelled me to reevaluate my own existence. It shed light on the impact my son had on the lives of others, despite the challenges he faced. His love and resilience touched the hearts of countless young people, as I discovered through the heartfelt eulogies given by those he had inspired.

This profound loss forced me to confront my own reality. How do I continue living a life that is not true to myself? How much longer can I go on without embracing my authentic self?

Life is not measured by its duration but by the footprints we leave behind. Despite his tender age of sixteen and a half, my son left an enduring mark on the world. And now I ask myself, what about me? What about you?

Thus began my journey towards discovering my true self—a journey that serves as a legacy for my son, an homage to his memory.
