A New Year; A New Beginning

Happy Birthday 2022

A new year, a new beginning

It seems that I have just celebrated my birthday and before I know it, it’s year-end.   2022 is here, sometimes I would wonder what’s it like to have birthday nearer the beginning the year or mid of the year.  So, we can not only celebrate the birthday  but reflect of what we have been for the past year, won’t this be more productive, rather than to  wait till the year-end?

2021 was an unique year for me, in Sep, I ‘celebrated’ my son’s 21, in Oct my young son went to university, in Nov, it was my 50th celebration.   In reality, nothing was closed to the so-called celebration. In Sep, I remember my elder son’s short 16.5 years of life, in Oct was the panic and worries of my younger son going to university as he has not spoken for months before going to the University (yes literally silent with no words).  To make matters worse, we as parents are not allowed to step in to assist in anyway due to the law in UK ie when they reached 18, they are adults. We must get their written consents to assist (regardless of the person’ conditions/ ability).   Coming from Asia background, I strongly feel this is totally absurd.  This is how I ended my 2021 – a state of helplessness against the cruel realities instead of the celebrations..

So what has 2022 behold? Especially I have crossed the ½ a century of living, shouldn’t I be wiser?

It is not the age - I learnt,  I realised.    it is the experience that taught us, it is what we allowed our state of mind to be.

When one year ends, another year begins.

How can I ensure each year is lived with the Right Intent!   The same purposeful living, the staying on track, making my life truly counted with an impact not only for me but others as well.

Every year, we see many big celebrations, to welcome the new year. Most people join in the celebration procession on the streets, at home, drinking, partying.

What actually are we celebrating ? Simply another year, if so, why not celebrate another day.

For every day is a good day, a day we can choose to begin with negative or positive thoughts,

This year – I want to begin my year, knowing full well that I have the power to choose the kind of life I want

What is that intention you have set for this year?

What is that intention that is different from last year or your previous year?

What is the difference; today from yesterday?

What have you learnt today ? That would make your tomorrow ‘better’ - whatever that better means for you.   For those such as refugees - it is  safety, food, shelter while right to the other end of the spectrum - those who have the stability and wealth, then what else are you looking for.

As we begin a NEW YEAR!

What is that True desire in your heart ?

"Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right." Henry Ford

Since you are right either way,  ie there is NO a right or wrong here.

What is your Intent for 2022?
