Professional reflections...

"Aries has faced one of the most traumatic events I could ever imagine as a parent — the death of her child. Rather than being victimized by this event, she has found a way to become so much more as a result. Her book, Authenticity Unveiled, explores the concept of Sage Grief and how to overcome life-changing circumstances as defining moments in our lives. This book is a powerful healing resource and a journey of discovery. May it support you in yours as it has helped me in mine"

— Bill Carmody, former Chief Coaching Officer, Positive Intelligence

"Aries' book is one which nobody can ever forget, after reading it. Despite having gone through an unimaginable personal tragedy, Aries courageously uses her pain to heal her readers.

Readers who are feeling lost, managing bouts of fatigue, personal and professional burnouts and/or are also seeking the meaning and purpose of Life will find this book, a most empowering read.

This book provides a safe space for growth, self-discovery and learning. It's almost like having a coach/ counsellor sitting beside you, speaking with you and guiding you through the most difficult yet poignant and powerful questions.

These questions in the book were hard, but needful. They were in-depth enough to facilitate growth, yet weren't too 'intrusive'.

Thank You for writing this book, Aries."

— Yvonne Kong-Ho, PhD, Industrial Gerontologist and Workforce Developer

"As someone who has overcome 13 years of depression and three hospitalizations—while sustaining a 33-year marriage and raising 15 children—I found myself deeply seen in every chapter of this book. Aries has written with remarkable insight and compassion, creating a safe and sacred space for anyone struggling to show up as their true self. Her courageous vulnerability gently invites readers to embark on their own journey of self-discovery, without shame or pretense. Through powerful quotes and thoughtful writing prompts, she meets readers exactly where they are—free from the weight of others’ expectations. This book is an essential guide for anyone ready to remove the mask of happiness and uncover the authentic joy that already lives within them. "

Full Critical Reflection

Edward Musiak, Founder & CEO, Musiak Consultancy

"I have read many self-help books over the years, books that promise to improve your life, optimize your thinking, or show you a better way forward. Many of them pride themselves on offering formulas: follow these steps and your life will improve; apply this framework and your relationships will be fixed; adopt these habits and you will become a better partner, parent, leader, or person. While most are well intentioned, I have consistently struggled with one fundamental issue. Too often, they speak at the reader rather than with them. The author positions themself as the expert, the reader as the student, and the experience can quickly feel patronizing. Even when the ideas are sound, the tone becomes off-putting. You are being told how to live, rather than being invited into a conversation about your life. More often than not, once the book is closed, it’s “remedies” are forgotten and the underlying problems remain.

This book is different.

It does not attempt to improve your life by handing you rigid formulas or prescribing a single “right” way forward. Nor does it assume that human beings can be neatly optimized through techniques alone. Instead, it engages the reader as a thinking adult, through reflection, carefully framed questions, and practical exercises that help you reach your ownconclusions. Grounded in science and equally grounded in lived experience, the book addresses the person honestly, directly, and with depth. The result is a book that feels human rather than mechanical, reflective rather than prescriptive.

Although written by a highly experienced executive coach, it never feels instructional. From the outset, it feels as though you are sitting beside the author, listening to a deeply personal story rather than being told how to live. There is no hierarchy here, no expert talking down to the reader. Instead, the author meets you as an equal, open, reflective, and human.

What sets this book apart is its grounding in real life. The author writes with extraordinary honesty about her life, a life that was already complex, demanding, and challenging long before the devastating loss of her son. Those earlier experiences provide important context and depth, but it is the tragedy of her son’s death that becomes the catalyst for the deep self-reflection that ultimately led to this book. She does not present her story as a neat narrative of before and after. Instead, she allows the reader to see the full human continuum of her life, and how one defining event forced her to re-examine everything that came before it.

The loss of her son is shared with courage and restraint. It is not used for effect or sympathy, but as part of a broader, deeply human journey, one that explores what happens when life refuses to follow a predictable path, not only as we expect it ourselves, but as those closest to us expect it to as well. The assumptions, plans, and quiet agreements about how life should unfold are disrupted, and the reader is invited to sit with that reality rather than look away. While many readers will not have experienced the same loss, they will recognize themselves in the emotions, the questioning, and the effort to make sense of a life that no longer fits a familiar or socially expected pattern.

Throughout the book, the author reflects on how her life experiences shaped her thinking and ultimately informed the conclusions she now shares. This is where her professional background adds depth rather than dominance. Insights are not delivered as instructions, but as reflections offered generously and without judgement. You are never told what to do. You are invited to think.

This is a brutally honest book. It is raw, emotional, and unfiltered. It does not soften difficult truths or pander to the reader. Throughout the book, it feels as though a mirror has been placed directly in front of you. You may not like what you see reflected back, but you cannot look away or ignore it. The author forces you to confront your own reflection, your assumptions, imperfections, blind spots, and unresolved questions. More importantly, she does not allow you to remain passive. The clarity this book creates makes inaction impossible. Once you truly see yourself, you are compelled to respond. You have to act.

Importantly, the author does not leave you alone in that discomfort. While the book challenges deeply held assumptions, it does so with empathy. The author stays beside you throughout the process, helping you navigate reflection and self-examination in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. The tone remains peer-to-peer, never lecturing, never condescending.

As I reflected on how the book affected me personally, one image kept returning. It felt as though many of us move through life as passive passengers, like sitting on a train without ever stopping to consider its destination. We settle into comfort, routine, and momentum, allowing ourselves to be carried along without questioning where we are actually heading. This book forced me to stop and ask harder questions: Where is my life taking me? Is that destination intentional? And am I sufficiently aware to know when it is time to stay on the train, or when it is necessary to step off and choose a new one, deliberately and consciously, towards a different destination? That realization did not come from being instructed, but from being invited to think.

This is not a book you read and forget. It stays with you. It continues to challenge you long after the final page. I read it in two sittings, drawn in by a writing style that is intimate, grounded, and compelling. Once finished, it continued to sit at the forefront of my mind, quietly demanding an answer to a simple but confronting question: Now that you see yourself more clearly, what are you going to do?

The book does offer solutions, but they are not passive, and they are not easy. They require effort, honesty, and self-confrontation. Just as you do not get physically fit without discipline and commitment, meaningful change in life demands action. This book makes that clear and then challenges you to do the work.

For anyone in mid-career or mid-life, particularly those in their 40s and 50s, this book is especially relevant. It offers clarity, depth, and a path forward for those prepared to engage fully.

This book is, without hesitation, a must read."
